A bride and groom’s bizarre wedding video has gone viral after the officiant in charge of the ceremony decided to go “off-script” before they tied the knot.
Olivia and Fred Mancuso’s big day was all going to plan and the pair were just about to be pronounced husband and wife in front of their family and friends when the minister decided to deviate from the rehearsed plan.
In a video uploaded to TikTok to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary, Olivia explains: “So me and my husband’s minister went off-script during our ceremony and then this happened.”
After giving a short speech, the officiant suddenly says: “From my heart to yours, here you go” and breaks out into song, loudly belting out the word ‘hallelujah’ five times with seemingly no sense of pitch or rhythm.
She holds the final note to really show off her range before quickly adding: “You may now kiss your bride.”
While the pair manage to hold it together with no more than some awkward glances between them on the day, Olivia can be heard loudly laughing as she re-watches the clip of the completely unplanned moment.
Olivia told Today : “It was pure shock. We didn’t put any sort of singing in our meticulously planned script so it caught us off guard.
“We did not talk to her about it afterward. We really just wanted to start celebrating with our friends and family.
“Though we were a little upset, it was a small snafu in an otherwise perfect day.”
The clip has racked up more than three million views on social media, gaining thousands of comments from viewers who were left equally perplexed.
One said: “She for sure waited for that moment her whole life.”
A second wrote: “Honestly I’m so impressed by your ability to keep a straight face.”
Another simply added: “This gets funnier every time honestly.”
